Celebrating Lunar New Year with Creativity and Culture

Lunar New Year, also known as Seollal in Korea, is a time of family gatherings, delicious food, and meaningful traditions. At ARTROOM101, our talented Korean American students have been learning about the rich customs of Seollal and expressing their creativity through beautiful artworks. This special lesson not only introduces them to the cultural significance of the holiday but also provides a space for self-expression and artistic exploration.

Learning Through Art

Through this project, students explored traditional elements of Seollal, such as hanbok (traditional Korean clothing), ancestral rites, and the importance of family. By translating these traditions into their own artistic interpretations, they gained a deeper understanding of their heritage and its connection to their identity.
